Former England and Liverpool captain Henderson has signed a two-year deal with the Bees after being granted a free transfer by Ajax.
Brentford manager Keith Andrews expressed his delight at Henderson's arrival, stating, “When we became aware of Jordan’s availability, it was a pretty simple decision.”
Andrews explained that the club did their due diligence to assess Henderson's recent performances, finding him to be still phenomenally fit and motivated to achieve success in the game.
With several experienced players leaving the club, Andrews emphasized the importance of replacing that void, particularly with a young squad.
He highlighted that Henderson's leadership experience will drive standards and be a brilliant addition to the squad, citing his achievements at Liverpool and international level with England.
Meanwhile, Henderson expressed his enthusiasm for joining Brentford, stating, “I’m delighted that I’m here; I’m very excited to get started and get going.”
He praised the club's family-oriented culture and expressed his admiration for the club's growth over the years, saying, “When I spoke to Phil Giles, Lee Dykes, and Keith, I just had a really good feeling about everything.”
He also mentioned that Keith Andrews was a big reason why he wanted to join the club, citing their honest and enthusiastic conversation.
With Henderson's signing, Brentford fans can look forward to an exciting new chapter in the club's history.
