Watkins is not the only one interested in him, as Manchester United is also looking to add him to their team. They are seeking a second attacking signing after the recent addition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Watkins is 29 years old and is willing to leave Aston Villa this summer. Newcastle sees him as a potential replacement for Callum Wilson, who has left the team after his contract expired last week.
