Man City have been drawn in a relatively straightforward Group G, with their campaign set to begin on June 18th against Morocco's Wydad AC. They will then face UAE's Al-Ain and Serie A's Juventus. However, they could potentially face either Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich or 15-time Champions League winners Real Madrid in the round of 16.
"We've talked about it among ourselves – being the first to lift the trophy would be a nice achievement," Foden said.
"With the players we have and the quality within the team, I'm confident we have the capability to achieve this goal," he added.
Man City have a significant following in the States, and Foden is looking forward to playing in front of their fans, some of whom may be seeing the team for the first time.
"It would be difficult for fans to travel to watch us play, so I'm sure they'll be excited to see us up close," Foden said.
Man City arrive in the US on the back of a disappointing season, having failed to win any silverware for the first time since 2016/17. However, Foden believes the team should not be written off, citing the presence of star striker Erling Haaland and the improvement of defender Nico O'Reilly.
"Erling is an exceptional player, and his mentality is impressive," Foden said.
"Nico is a humble and dedicated player who is always looking to learn and improve," he added.
With the team's sights set on the FIFA Club World Cup, Foden and his teammates are ready to put on a strong performance and bring home the trophy.
