Barry, who joined Villarreal a year ago from FC Basel for €14m, expressed his gratitude to the club and its fans. He said: "It has been a great honour to wear this shirt and represent the team. I want to thank the fans for their love and support since my first day here, especially the memory of my first goal in the stadium. This moment gave me the strength to work hard and fight for the team every weekend."
Barry also thanked his teammates for making his time at Villarreal enjoyable and rewarding. He said: "I've had an incredible year with my teammates, filled with joy and wonderful memories. I've met many kind people within the club and team who have made my experience here truly special."
The striker also expressed his appreciation to the manager, who he credits with giving him the opportunity to grow as a player and a person. Barry said: "I thank the manager for trusting me from the start and believing in me. He has helped me improve as a player and even taught me some Spanish!"
