After completing a season with Hajduk Split, the team has undergone a change in management with Gonzalo Garcia taking over as the new coach.
Earlier this week, Garcia stated that Rakitic had chosen to retire and would be joining his coaching staff.
However, Rakitic has denied these claims, saying that he has not made any official announcements about his retirement.
"I appreciate the messages of support, but I still have work to do before I decide to retire," Rakitic explained.
"Emotions are a natural part of football, but I still have goals to achieve before I hang up my boots," he added.
At 37 years old, Rakitic had a successful season with Hajduk Split, contributing to the team's third-place finish in the league by playing 38 games.
