Domestically, Spurs have been struggling, sitting 15th in the Premier League table with a mere 37 points from 32 matches. However, Europe seems to have offered some respite.
Winning the Europa League would secure Champions League football for the Tottenham Hotspur stadium next season, regardless of their league position.
Amidst a press conference prior to their clash with Nottingham Forest, the Aussie coach remains optimistic about his team's chances of turning their season around.
Postecoglu: "Thursday's Victory - A Significant Step, But We'll See"
"Sure, it could be," he said. "It all depends on the result and the context it's played in.
"It's easy to stand here and call Thursday a turning point, but it won't be a turning point if we don't follow it up in the semi.
"We'll only know if it was if we do a season review DVD – do they still do DVDs? – at the end. But do I think Thursday mattered? Absolutely, I do.
"We overcame a tough opponent, we deserved to progress. There was no luck about it. Over the two legs, we were the stronger team, we did it in a convincing manner and just the prospect of being in a semi-final means you're two games away from a European final.
"That's hugely motivating, so it might be that Thursday was the turning point, but we won't know that yet."
