Ortiz is expected to play a bigger role for the team this season. After the sale of Youssouf Sabaly to Al-Duhail, Betis plans to fast-track Ortiz as a replacement at right-back.

Ortiz made his La Liga debut last season, appearing in five matches. He will now compete with more experienced teammates, including Aitor Ruibal and Hector Bellerin, for a spot in the starting lineup under coach Manuel Pellegrini.
