April looks to be a grueling month for the Catalan giants, with nine games across all competitions, including the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan and the Copa de Rey final against Real.
Addressing the press prior to the Celta Vigo game, the German manager vented his frustration over the scheduling.
"Have you any idea how many matches we've played recently? We played late against Valladolid and arrived home at four or five in the morning. I'm not making excuses, but it's ridiculous. Every league shields their clubs in the Champions League, especially during the semi-finals. It's unbelievable."
"We don't have time to rest, and I want to have a chat with the people making these decisions. They have no idea what it's like. No idea at all."
"It's just one thing. I don't want to come here and whine or make excuses, but seriously, why can't we kick off at 6 PM instead of 11 PM? I'd love to meet the person responsible for this. This is a joke. I think it's bad for Spanish football."
"If we're successful, it's great for Spanish football, as it means another team can compete in the Champions League. But this scheduling situation is speechless. I have no words for it. It's unbelievable."
"Every other league prioritizes their clubs, but here, it's just, 'Ah, let them play, they can come back at five or six in the morning.' We've only just got four hours of sleep. It's unbelievable."
