During an interview, Toure mentioned that Arsenal has always been his dream team. He recalled his trial with the club many years ago, where he met one of his idols, Patrick Vieira. Sharing the dressing room with Vieira and the rest of the team was an exciting experience for Toure.
At the time, theArsenal players would often tease him good-naturedly, asking him to wash their shoes. However, Toure would happily oblige. He joked that if he were to ask a young player to do the same today, they might not be so willing to comply.
Toure also remembered his visits to Highbury Stadium, where he would watch Arsenal play and envision himself as a part of the team. He had hoped to join the club at some point, but unfortunately, it didn't work out due to his lack of playing time for the Ivory Coast national team.
Toure was sad about missing out on the opportunity to play for Arsenal, particularly because of the team's connection to London, a city he had grown fond of.
