Despite being sacked by Roma and Southampton in the past season, Juric is optimistic about his new position. He believes that every coach has to face setbacks and that this experience has made him stronger.
“This is football, and it's a sport where success and failure are just a season apart,” he said. “I didn't have a good season this year, but now I have a great opportunity. It doesn't happen often for coaches, and I'm grateful for it.”
Juric also spoke about his time at Roma and Southampton, where he worked with talented players and gained valuable experience in the Premier League. He believes that these experiences have helped him grow as a coach.
He also mentioned that he prefers to work with a team that starts from pre-season, and that he will focus on improving the team's set pieces and statistics. Juric is not intimidated by the challenge of succeeding Gasperini, who is now in charge of Roma.
“I spoke to Gasperini this morning, and he told me not to be too influenced by his work,” he said. “Gasperini has had a significant impact on many coaches in Serie A and abroad, but every coach has to find their own way. I'm looking forward to bringing my own ideas to the team.”
Overall, Juric is excited about his new role and is confident in his ability to lead Atalanta to success.
